TORLYS is headquartered in an 86,000-square-foot facility in Mississauga, Canada. TORLYS also has a 30,000-square-foot warehouse, office and showroom in British Columbia.
TORLYS History
TORLYS is a privately owned company founded in 1988 by founding partners Fernando Luz and Anibal Claudino. The name TORLYS is derived from Toronto (TOR) and Lisbon (LYS).
- The company was originally started as a general building products and flooring distributor serving the Central Ontario building supply and commercial hardwood flooring markets.
- In 1991, current President and CEO Peter Barretto joined TORLYS, and the previously broad-based regional building materials supplier was streamlined to focus on becoming a national floorcovering distribution specialist.
- Since 1988, TORLYS has successfully become one of the fastest-growing flooring companies in Canada.
