Dyson technology captures particles as small as pollen, bacteria and mould spores. That's why the air a Dyson expels has 150 times less pollen, bacteria and mould spores than the air you breathe.
(New Zealand Only)
In just 100g of house dust there are up to one billion bacterial cells, 10 million fungal spores, 50,000 dust mites and 25 million dust mite droppings – all effective allergy triggers.
How do we know this? Because at Dyson there is a state-of-the-art microbiology lab where scientists have cultivated a dust mite farm to study household dirt, dust and all those other nasties we mentioned above, in order to understand their effects and identify ways of eliminating them from your home.
It’s based on this extensive study that Dyson vacuum cleaners are developed to help rid your home of these asthma and allergy triggers.
Bagged cleaners
The bag is meant to trap dirt and allow air to escape through the tiny holes in the fabric. As soon as you start to use a bagged machine, dust and dirt collects in the bag but it also starts to clog the tiny holes. This restricts the air flow causing a loss of suction, and reducing the efficiency of the cleaner.
Bagless cleaners
Bagless cleaners work in a similar way. The cyclone collects the large particles but a central filter is still required to trap the fine dust. Just like a bag it quickly clogs, restricting the airflow, causing a loss of suction and reducing the efficiency of the cleaner.
